Applying for a D-visa

In which cases it is possible to apply for a D-visa

Person can apply for a D-visa if it is proved that person has need to stay in Estonia for more than 90 days in 180day period.

If D-visa is applied or has been issued for short-term employment, studies or for start-up business, applicant’s spouse, a minor child or an adult child who due to his or her health status or disability is unable to cope independently, can apply for D-visa under the same conditions as to the main applicant.

Who can apply for D-visa in Estonian Embassy in Ankara

In Estonian Embassy in Ankara following third-country nationals can apply for D-visa:

  • all residents of Turkey irrespective of their citizenship. Applicant, who is not citizen of Turkey must, as a rule, have Turkish residence permit to apply for visa in Estonian Embassy in Ankara;
  • by way of exception non-residents of Turkey can apply for long term visa in Estonian Embassy in Ankara, if it is not possible to apply for Estonian D-visa in their home country, i.e. there isn’t Estonian foreign representation handling visa applications in the country where applicant resides. Where in Turkey it is possible to lodge an application for Estonian D-visa

Application can be lodged only in Estonian Embassy in Ankara. For lodging an application the Embassy, please acquire appointment in the electronic calendar of the Embassy. Please take notice that every applicant (including minors) must have separate appointment for lodging an application. The Embassy will accept only application of this person, who’s name is in the calendar.
