State Polyphonic Choir has become one of the leading professional choir ensembles of Turkey since 1988. The State Polyphonic Choir established by Hikmet Şimşek, worked with Walter Strauss, Ahter Destan, Ibrahim Yazici and Cemi’i Can Deliorman and has given concerts with many valuable conductors. The State Polyphonic Choir has been working with Burak Onur Erdem since the 2017-2018 seasons.
Christian Dengk, one of today’s most prominent organists of the world who won the Jugendmusiziert award 8 times in Germany and cellist Egmont Välj, art director and leader of Estonia’s renowned cello artists are the soloists of the night in “Bach and Baltic Composers “ themed concert . In this very special concert that brings together organ, cello and choir Singet dem Herrn (BWV 225) motet, one of the ancient works of Bach, is surrounded by the minimalist music of Estonian composer Arvo Pärt. The program that is enriched with the works of Finnish composer Rautavaara and Latvian composer Vasks and the different colors of human voice and organ-cello harmony draws attention as a Bach & Baltic composers evening at the festival.
